Choosing A Dentist In Los Angeles The American Dental Association offers some welcome advice for choosing a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles. We have already talked about how word of mouth is an important factor in how many people find a dentist. Here are some things you should look for in an a Los Angeles cosmetic dentist:

Location is always a factor when choosing a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles. If you live in the Los Angeles, California area there are many options and most locations are not too far out of the way. While location plays an important role in convenience, many people are willing to drive a little farther for a better experience with their Los Angeles cosmetic dentist.

Relationship is a strong factor. Your Los Angeles cosmetic dentist should be approachable, and should make you feel comfortable when you are in the dentist chair. After all, your Los Angeles  dentist will be working very close with you to help you achieve a high level of dental hygiene; you most certainly will want to have a good, professional, comfortable relationship with your Los Angeles cosmetic dentist and the dental office staff.

Specialty is another important factor in choosing a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles.  A popular service cosmetic dentists specialize in is teeth whitening.  Cosmetic dentists also specialize in invisalign, porcelain veneers, and dental implants.  Depending on your need, make sure to select a local Los Angeles cosmetic dentist who can solve your concerns.

If you are looking for a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles, please come by and speak with me. I can address your interest in any of these critical areas, and will be happy to introduce you to Century City Aesthetic Dentistry.

Affordable Los Angeles Cosmetic Dentistry

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Affordable Los Angeles Cosmetic Dentistry Will your California dental insurance cover Los Angeles cosmetic dental procedures? Many Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Los Angeles dentistry clients assume their dental insurance won’t cover any cosmetic dental procedures. This is probably true for tooth whitening or some other cosmetic dentistry treatments. However, many California dental insurance plans and dental supplemental plans cover orthodontia and any treatment needed to repair damage from an injury. Medical insurance and worker’s compensation plans may also cover injury treatment.

Some dental insurance plans cover replacement porcelain veneers in certain circumstances. Check with your carrier for benefit specifics if you need replacement veneers due to deterioration. We can then discuss dental treatment options such as replacement veneers or porcelain crowns. When the work is completed, we may be able to help you submit your dental claim form if your plan requires one.

If you are in need of any kind of dental treatment; from a cleaning to major restorative work, come in to Century City Aesthetic Dentistry on 2080 Century Park East, Suite 1601 in Los Angeles. You can meet our professional team, undergo a thorough evaluation and discuss financing options. Even if you do not have California dental insurance, let’s talk. Top quality Los Angeles dental treatment is a wise investment and may be more affordable than you think.

Doctor Bill Dorfman of Century City Aesthetic Dentistry has been proudly serving Los Angeles and Century City residents since 1985. Century City Aesthetic Dentistry is a network dental provider for many California dental insurance plans.

Keeping Bones Strong in Los Angeles

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Century City Aesthetic Dentistry There is a tooth connection that links osteoporosis and oral health. If you are a woman, you have probably heard about the high rate of osteoporosis in America, including Los Angeles. The state of California is no exception. Osteoporosis can often progress without any outward symptoms. However, there may be clues in a person’s mouth that indicate compromised bones in the rest of the body.

The following dental and periodontal issues could indicate the presence of osteoporosis:

  • Gum detachment
  • Ill-fitting dentures
  • Jaw bone recession and erosion
  • Difficulty with ordinary mouth function such as eating or speaking

The experienced dentists at Century City Aesthetic Dentistry are trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the dental health problems sometimes associated with osteoporosis. Schedule a consultation in Los Angeles by calling (877) 331-9291 and we can discuss your dental concerns. While you are here, we can also tell you about the cosmetic dental services we provide. Cosmetic dentistry continues to improve smiles for our friends and neighbors in the Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Century City, and Los Angeles area.

If you suspect you may be suffering from osteoporosis, please see your physician right away. While your dentist can help identify some of the symptoms associated with osteoporosis, you should not rely on your dentist to provide a diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Are Dental Implants Worth It For Los Angeles?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Are Los Angeles Dental Implants Worth It? A dental implant is a permanent tooth replacement that looks, feels and works like a natural tooth.

The actual dental implant material is usually titanium. A post is surgically inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post integrates with the bone to provide a stable foundation. The root replacement device can help prevent future jaw bone deterioration that can occur after a tooth has been lost. When the implant has integrated securely with the bone (it can take three to six months), a smaller post is attached. This post extends above the gum line. The artificial tooth (crown) is then attached.

The dental implants available in the Los Angeles and Hollywood area are extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of configurations. One dental implant can replace one missing tooth. A series of implants can replace more than one tooth or anchor a dental bridge. Implants can also act as a sturdy base for partial or full dentures.

When calculating the cost of dental implants in Los Angeles, Hollywood, or Beverly Hills area, you’ll want to compare them to other restorative options.

Call (877) 331-9291 to schedule a visit to discuss your dental goals and the possibility of reasonably cost dental implants. If you are missing one or more teeth, you owe it to yourself to get dental implants information.

Los Angeles Tooth Restoration: Dental Implants and Dental Bridges

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

San Diego Dental Implants and Dental BridgesWhen my Los Angeles clients ask me about tooth restoration, I usually tell them about fixed (or ‘traditional’) dental bridges or tooth implants. A dental bridge is an artificial tooth which replaces a missing tooth. The false tooth (called a ‘pontic’) is fused to porcelain crowns on either side of the missing tooth.

Tooth replacement has been a highly requested procedure at my Los Angeles dental practice. Patients from the Century City, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood area have expressed concern about tooth replacement for many years. Most of my questions have to do with the strength of the tooth replacement and durability.

Dental implants are also a popular concern for my Los Angeles tooth replacement patients. A dental implant consists of a titanium post surgically inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post integrates with the bone to provide a stable foundation for the replacement tooth.

After it has bonded with the bone (it usually takes three to six months), a smaller post is attached. This post extends above the gum line. The artificial tooth (crown) is then attached. The entire process takes several months, but consistently yields terrific results for Los Angeles tooth restoration patients. My California cosmetic dentistry patients appreciate the fact that I stay up to date on the latest advancements in tooth replacement procedures.

Both smile restoration options preserve or restore facial contour and allow you to talk and eat normally. Tooth replacements prevent adjoining teeth from gradually shifting and can help correct bite problems, too. Tooth implants and dental bridges can replace one or more missing teeth. Many Los Angeles area dental patients have been treated successfully with these tooth restoration alternatives.

Call Century City Aesthetic Dentistry to schedule an evaluation for California tooth restoration. You can schedule your tooth restoration by calling us at 310-277-5678 .
